Carmen.
Carmen wasn’t anybody’s girl.

She treated us equal and
impersonally.

But, I knew her. She often
came over.

Mother considered good.
She was right.

She never gossiped.
She kept her own affairs right.

Small and neat
Perfect health.

Perfect.

She was a wonder!
You just never thought about

Her.

Is Truth.

Paid for with lives
And failure.

First time
on my own
I had suspicions.
Different ideas on
Life, History, Philosophy

Nobody passes.

Never question
[This], and bluntly,
Violence settles it.
Everybody knows it.
Violence settles
Destinies.
This wasn't what I originally envisioned. But I couldn't bring my original vision to light... Tried going from the bottom up, and with a little help from Leonard Cohen, this piece came together.
