Lost in the Woods
If you recall from the last two updates Garcon had recently learned Baba Yaga was in Mordavia, a Gnome had come to him without his humor, a talking skull wanted to up its style, and he’d just been giving a rehydration potion from Dr. Cranium.
Perseii spent the rest of the day wandering the wilderness until nightfall. Once the sun had gone done though he started heading towards Erana’s Garden in the valley. We’re not looking to go to the garden but there is something we want on the western edges of it. Along the way Jackson returns into some of the valley’s nightlife:
Not much to see here really. Just the shambling undead. Turns out corpses don’t much appreciate being set ablaze. It also turns out that Danar doesn’t really care what the undead like or don’t like.
When Seepgood arrives at the spot two screens west of Erana’s Garden he’s greeted by a ghost. Unlike all the other things he has run into at night though this one doesn’t attack him. He tries to talk to it:
Ghost’s name:
Ghost:
Before Garcon can ask her any more questions she disappears:
He leaves the area and then returns:
Town:
Forest:
Ghost:
Once again after a few comments she disappears:
Perseii leaves the clearing and returns again:
Why does no one want to listen to us? So far, Jackson is the only person in this whole damned valley who makes any sense!
Once more he lives the clearing before returning:
Name:
We’ve heard that name before, haven’t we? Old Man Nikolai won’t shut up about his Anna. Looks like we found her.
Ghost:
Home:
Danar will have to wait until morning to tell Nikolai that his wife has been found. There are a few things he can do before Day 5 though.
Light my Fire
Seepgood heads back to town climbs over the wall and heads towards the Monastery. If you recall there was a dried of Domovoi in there. I pointed it out when we went into the building and the Inn Domovoi pointed the thing out to us as well. Now that we have the rehydration potion from Dr. Cranium we can help out the little guy:
The little guy is referencing the Hectapod above the fireplace. We’ve already done everything we need to do downstairs, though. Actually, with the Domovoi restored there really isn’t any reason to allow this cursed building to remain standing. Garcon casts firebolt on the carpet and quickly makes his way out of the building as it bursts into flames:
Perseii now waits until the everyone at the end goes to sleep and then creeps down to the common room to talk with the Inn Domovoi:
Tanya:
Doll:
Werewolf?! There wolf. There castle.
It is a creepy doll.
With the Monastery burned down and Domovoi revealing to us how the Innkeepers’ daughter disappeared Danar is done for the day. With nothing else to do he retires to his bedroom until morning.
The next morning after eating breakfast Seepgood stumbles upon some sort of scene being acted out in front of the Burgomeister’s office:
Okay? Apparently, something to do with Igor, the gravedigger, and a gypsy?
Werewolf:
Tramps and Thieves
Gravedigger:
Gypsy:
Okay, Perseii now knows something that is going on. Igor is missing and a gypsy (Roma) has been detained. Before digging in further we check in on our late night escapade:
I got to say I was hoping for a more dramatic fire… Next Jackson checks in on old Nikolai:
As always Nikolai doesn’t have anything to say. This time though Danar does and tells the old man about his ghost wife:
With that Nikolai shuffles off the screen. I’m sure he’ll be fine. He’ll be fine. What could possibly hurt him in the forest?
Scapegoat
When Seepgood returns to the western side of town the farmers and Dimitri are still arguing:
Gypsy:
Igor:
Burgomeister:
Maybe the gypsy will have something to say? Garcon enters the Burgomeister’s home:
Perseii attempts to question the Roma about himself, Igor, and werewolves but all he gets out of the guy is some dirty looks and being spit on. Considering the way the townsfolk are treating him can you really blame him? Jackson promises the man that he will do whatever he can to prove his innocence and see his release. The Roma doesn’t seem too hopeful.
Join me next week when we free the Roma, Find Igor, and see how Nikolai is enjoying the forest! Probably some other things too!
