Two weekends ago I was up at Lake Berryessa with the rest of my Masters Swim Team, Davis Aquatic, putting on our annual mile swim event. I’ve swam the mile swim before and I had decided that before we moved away I should go full bore and do the two mile swim event. FYI this post contains pictures of me in a Speedo. Hot, I know.
Open swimming is hard. I much prefer a pool with a wall I can flip turn off of every 25-50 meters. I came in 10th in my age group and 192 overall. I figure I was there to make 191 people feel better about themselves.
Would rather be out swimming, running, or camping. Works in state government. Spent a youth reading genre-fiction; today, he is making up for it by reading large quantities of non-fiction literature. The fact that truth, in every way, is more fascinating than fiction still tickles him.

In my book, surviving two miles of swimming makes you a winner. Even if you’re the 192nd winner.
You should get a red speedo. It would make you faster.
I think goldenrod is the fastest Speedo. One hour for swimming two miles sounds fast to me–even in a slow suit.
